Citibank (NYSE: C) and Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) Receive Swine Flu Vaccine in NYC

Some of New York City’s largest employers, including Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) and Citibank (NYSE: C) employees have begun to receive doses of the swine flu vaccine.

New York City officials said that doctors for company health services can request the vaccine along with other city doctors. The NYC health officials have also stated that only high-risk employees such as pregnant women and individuals with chronic illnesses can currently receive the vaccine.

Most of the available swine flu vaccine is being routed to employees at hospitals and medical care facilities in the city. Other large employers to receive doses of the vaccination include Columbia University and the Federal Reserve Bank.

The vaccine for the swine flu has still been in relatively short supply because of manufacturing delays. Each state has the authority to determine how to distribute its share of the vaccine. Federal health officials have said that hose at high-risk for complications should be the first to receive the vaccine.
