Business News: Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) Releases ‘CEO Mobile’ App for iPhone
The increased importance of catering to mobile phone users in general, and business mobile phone users in particular, has resulted in a new app for the iPhone from Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC), and extension of ‘CEO Mobile.’
According to Amy L. Johnson, channel manager of the CEO Mobile service, this is in response to demand for an iPhone app. Johnson said, “We’re answering the call of our CEO Mobile customers who asked for an iPhone app. Wells Fargo has kept its focus on integration with Wachovia, yet at the same time we’ve continued to invest in technology, products, and people.”
With many banks not even instituting a mobile strategy for banking at this time, Wells Fargo has been working at carving out a solid piece of that business in order to retain and grow its customer base.
For existing users who have authorization to access services and reports on the CEO portal, that authorization is is automatically extended for you to receive the new CEO Mobile service on your iPhone.
As with all business apps on a mobile phone, this one will focus on the overall picture and not the details, which isn’t desired by business users. Other uses business leaders want out of mobile phone apps are the ability to “communicate their approvals and decisions to their bank without being tied to their desks.”
Like its use on other mobile devices, the new iPhone application empowers users to track account activity and oversee cash management functions while away from the office.
According to Wells Fargo you can use the CEO Mobile service for the iPhone to initiate, approve, or reject wires, view account balances, monitor cash flows in up to 20 accounts, manage fraud protection services and administer users and reset passwords.
Mobile versions of these reports and services are offered through Wells Fargo’s Commercial Electronic Office portal.
Another function included with the app is you receive alerts without needing to sign on concerning any wires, ACH Fraud Filer reports or image positive pay exceptions.
Security for the CEO Mobile service iPhone app is 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.
