Barney Frank says Bank of America CEO Doing a “Very Good Job” (NYSE: BAC)

House Financial Services Committee Chairman, Barney Frank, praised current  Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) CEO Brian Moynihan in a short interview Thursday with the Charlotte Observer.

Frank (D-MD) said that the Charlotte-based bank has “out in front recognizing the need for mortgage changes.”

“I think he’s doing a very good job, not taking a defensive posture,” Frank said of Moynihan.

Frank said that he had trouble relating with the company’s former CEO, Kenneth Lewis. “He would say things, and say public things, that weren’t wise, and I told him that that wasn’t wise,” Frank said. “I think I told him that, I told his people that.”

Moynihan lives in a suburb of Boston and in Rep. Frank’s congressional district.

Rep. Frank said that he will be meeting on Friday with Barbara Desoer, Bank of America’s mortgage head, at the bank’s request. The House committee has two hearings scheduled next week to discuss mortgage modifications.
