Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) Hires New CEO for Citibank Canada

Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) announced on Tuesday that John Hastings would be the new country officer for Canada as well as Chairman and CEO for Citibank Canada.

Hastings most recently served as managing director and head of Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C)’s Institutional Clients Group in Canada, providing oversight across all institutional customer segments and product groups. Hastings has served with Citigroup in Canada for more than 25 years in various roles.

Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) said that in Hastings’ new role, he will be the new central representative for Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) in Canada and will be responsible for ensuring strong and effective relationships between Citi and its stakeholders. He will also oversee the governance and continued growth of Citigroup in Canada.

Hastings said in a statement, “This new role provides a tremendous opportunity, particularly as it comes at such a pivotal moment in Citi’s evolution in Canada. With significant investments being made in our Global Banking, Global Transaction Services and Citi Private Bank businesses, I look forward to solidifying Citi’s reputation as Canada’s most global bank.”

Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) operates in Canada through the Citibank, Citi Cards Canada, CitiFinancial, Citi Global Markets and Primerica franchises. Citi has a consumer and corporate customer base of about 3.5 million individual accounts and businesses.
