JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) analysts downgraded shares of Syngenta (NYSE: SYT) from Overweight to Neutral in a research note to investors on Wednesday.

Syngenta AG (Syngenta) is an agribusiness operating in the crop protection and seeds businesses. The Company is involved in the discovery, development, manufacture and marketing of a range of products designed to improve crop yields and food quality. In addition, Syngenta offers Professional Products through the development of products for markets, such as lawn and garden, professional pest management, vector control and public health. Through its business development research, Syngenta is applying biotechnology to areas, including biofuels. The Company operates in three business segments: crop protection, seeds and business development. On May 1, 2009, Syngenta sold its 6.99% shareholding in Sakata Seeds Corp. In June 2009, Syngenta acquired Circle One Global, Inc. In August 2009, the Company acquired the global hybrid sunflower seeds business of Monsanto. During the year ended December 31, 2009, it acquired Synergene Seed & Technology, Inc. and Pybas Vegetable Seed Co., Inc.

Shares of SYT traded down 1.39% hitting $43.22 during mid-day trading on Wednesday.
