Audible has a number of great titles for you to consider listening to this this season. Not only does Audible.com had almost everything available on the New York Times’ best seller lists, it has a great list of back-catalog books as well. There are a number of titles which are currently very popular available on Audible.com, such as “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”, “The Red Queen: A Novel”, “The Help”, “Star Island”, “The Rembrandt Affair” and “Fly Away Home: A Novel.” If non-fiction is more your style, there are a number of great history, business and political books available on Audible.com as well.

If you’re not familiar with Audible.com Android, it’s a service which provides downloadable audiobooks to its customers which can be played on the computer, some cell-phones, iPods, the Kindle, Garmin GPS devices, and just about any non-iPod MP3 player. If you don’t have a device that you can use to play audio books, Audible.com has a deal where if you purchase three audiobooks, they will send you a free MP3 player to listen to your purchases. The service has more than 75,000 titles in its ever-increasing library.

Audible.com recently released a client for Android, which allows users to download audio books that they’ve purchased directly onto their Android-based smartphone. If you plan on using your android phone to listen to audio books on the go, this is definitely the client that you’re looking for. There are also some added social features, such as achievements in the application. It does take a while to download audio books, so, if possible, download them over Wi-Fi.

The service typically costs either $14.95 per month or $22.95 per month depending on which subscription that you sign-up for. The $14.95 “gold” membership entitles readers to one audio book per month and discounts on any other audiobooks that you purchase. The “platinum” membership costs $22.95 per month, but may be a great option for heavy listeners, as it affords readers two audio books per month, as well as some really good discounts on other titles.

Here’s the fine print for the Audible.com Android deal, “Get your first 30 days of the AudibleListener® Gold membership plan free, which includes one audiobook credit, plus a bonus credit. After your 14 day trial, your membership will renew each month for just $14.95 per month so you can continue to receive one audiobook credit per month plus members-only discounts on all audio purchases. A very small number of titles are more than one credit. Cancel your membership before your free trial period is up and you will not be charged. Thereafter, cancel anytime, effective the next billing cycle. Any unused audiobook credits will be lost at cancellation.”
