JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA, July 21, 2012 /South Africa Business Network [1]/ — Serving as a leader in the occupational health and safety field in the Johannesburg region of South Africa, Matthew Ncube [2] has enjoyed a successful career filled with several significant accomplishments, leading to his inclusion in the South Africa Business Network, the world’s largest premiere networking resource for South African career professionals. Throughout his brilliant professional career, Matthew has consistently displayed the passion, vision, and dedication necessary to be successful in the business world. Utilizing over three decades of professional experience, Mr. Ncube currently serves as Director of International Global Risk Managers, which is a company that provides executive consulting in SHEQ Management Systems as well as Values and Culture Mapping, including Process Optimization. As a process optimization specialist, Matthew provides outstanding leadership to the company and superior services to their clients. Over the course of his incredibly impressive career, Matthew spent 8 years serving as National Director for Occupational Safety, Health, Research and Policy Development for Zimbabwe, during which time Zimbabwe ratified 6 ILO Conventions on Occupational Safety and Health based on the country’s national policies and operational programs in occupational health and safety. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of a national program audit system in OSH for all workplaces in Zimbabwe that contributed to the definition of the OSH Operational Programs and Management Systems. Mr. Ncube also had his research on Occupational Health Surveillance of Exposure to mining particulate matter presented during the 1997 ICOH Conference jointly held in Harare and Cape Town. In addition, he served as a member of the Organizing and Technical Committee of the ICOH Conference in 1997. Matthew has given several presentations over the years, including speaking to the Parliamentary Committee on Environment on the proper Monitoring and Management of Asbestos in Cape Town. Further evidencing his reputation in the field, Matthew was the Spokesperson and Coordinator for the Africa Group of Technical Experts and Advisers during the 2000 ILO Genève discussions on Safety and Health in Agriculture. He also served as the Chairperson of the OSH and Social Security sub-sector of the Employment Labour Sector for SADC for six years. During his collegiate career, Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Hygiene from London South Bank University. He is a member of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Africa SHEQ Group, Occupational Health and Safety Network, International Ergonomics Association, Construction Safety Group, and the Environmental Health & Safety Professionals.
