Nena M. Nera Joins The Global Community Of Stanford Who’s Who OTTAWA, ON, CANADA, September 10, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who [1]/ — A seasoned professional with extensive expertise in the social services and healthcare industries, Nena M. Nera [2] has enjoyed a tremendously successful career filled with several significant accomplishments, leading to her inclusion in the distinguished ranks of leading professionals with Stanford Who’s Who. Throughout her brilliant professional career, Nena has consistently displayed the passion, vision, and dedication necessary to be mentioned among the elite. After retiring in 2007, Nena went on to establish The N Company, through which she currently provides business and consulting services to clients across the globe. Over the course of her incredibly impressive career, she has served as an excellent example in the Filipino-Canadian community, known for promoting Filipino culture within Canadian society as well as integrating her culture with that of others. Nena’s most recent position prior to retiring and going into her own business was as a Special Advisor in Diversity for Health Canada which was a role that saw her create a core group known as Agents of Change that was involved in advocating for equity and recognition in the workplace for Filipinos and other minorities. Serving as the Lead Agent of Change, Nena lead the group in participating in and analyzing public service surveys aimed at the development of policies against discrimination and harassment in the workplace. Due to her outstanding achievements with Health Canada, she was the recipient of two Deputy Minister’s Awards for Excellence, which were in the categories of Diversity Management and Excellence in Values and Ethics. In addition to her extraordinary efforts in workplace advocacy, Nena was actively involved with Toastmasters International, through which she coached and mentored others in the promotion of communication and leadership within the community. She was the first Filipino to be named as Division Governor of the Year with the Toastmasters in 2007. Nena was also named as a Distinguished Toastmaster as a result of her excellence as a communicator and a leader in the prestigious organization. Despite gathering the vast majority of her expertise through her diverse professional experience, Nena is also a highly educated individual who earned a Master of Science degree in Social Work Administration from the University of Wisconsin. In addition, she received a fellowship at the Marquette University Medical School, where she specialized as a medical social worker. Further demonstrating her remarkable reputation in the professional community, Nena is a member of numerous prominent organizations, including the International Federation of Social Workers.
