Dr. John Sands Graduates To The Class Of Stanford Who’s Who BRISBANE, QLD, AUSTRALIA, September 19, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who [1]/ — An extraordinary educator with well over two decades of professional experience in the industry, Dr. John Sands [2] has enjoyed an enormously successful career filled with several significant accomplishments, leading to his inclusion in the exclusive network of leading professionals with Stanford Who’s Who. Throughout his brilliant professional career, Dr. Sands has consistently displayed the passion, vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be mentioned among the elite. Drawing upon his extensive expertise in accounting and his wealth of experience in the field, Dr. Sands serves as an Associate Professor of Accounting, Internship Convener, and Acting Head of the Accounting Discipline with the Griffith Business School of Griffith University across four campuses with their Gold Coast campus as his home campus. Griffith University is placed in the Top 10 Australian Research University and placed in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) top 500 (Shanghai Jiao Tong Ranking 2011). Prior to joining Griffith in 2011, Dr. Sands worked at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) during 2008 to 2011, where he held the positions of Director of Undergraduate Programmes, Assistant Dean – Learning and Teaching, Faculty representative on USC’s Learning and Teaching Management Committee, Chair and member of various working groups and committees, and Member of the Dean’s Executive Group and the Dean’s Management Group. Dr. Sands is currently teaching Griffith University students in the subjects of Management Accounting for accounting major undergraduate, Management Accounting and Strategy for accounting major postgraduate as well as Accounting for Manager for MBA postgraduates. In his role as an internship program convener, Dr. Sands is involved with designing internships for accounting graduates in their final year. Over the course of his incredibly impressive career, Dr. Sands has accumulated a wealth of knowledge through his research in numerous areas of accounting, including corporate sustainability based on a sustainability balanced scorecard approach to performance management. He has also done a large amount of research in accounting education, management accounting levers of control, corporate sustainability, and organizational strategy. Over twenty journal articles of Dr. Sands’ research in these and several other matters have been published in peer reviewed academic journals. Currently, Dr. Sands is a co-organizer of The Environmental and Sustainability Management Accounting Network 2013 EMAN Global conference. The conference will attract attendees who are members of EMAN from USA, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Australasia (Australia and New Zealand) and will be held on July 14-15 at Gold Coast city, Australia. Although he has gained a considerable amount of expertise through his comprehensive research and professional experience, Dr. Sands is also a highly educated individual who has earned various degrees. He has obtained a Diploma in Marketing Research from the Market Research Society of Australia, Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting at the Gold Coast University College of Griffiths University, and a Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing from the University of Southern Queensland. In addition, he earned a Master of Philosophy degree and a PhD, both in accounting, from Griffith University. Evidencing his remarkable reputation in the professional community, Dr. Sands is a member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, CPA Australia, and the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand.
