The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected James A. Hearn, MD, FACC, to represent cardiologists in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Hearn’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of cardiology.  He is considered to be among the best with over 20 years in practice. Dr. Hearn maintains a position at Cardiology Associates of Charlotte County in Port Charlotte, Florida. As well as practicing at Cardiology Associates, Dr. Hearn works at the Charlotte Regional Medical Center and Peace River Regional Medical Center. He has specific clinical interest and is trained in interventional cardiology; dealing with catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases, and cardiovascular disease. In the past, Dr. Hearn was an Assistant Professor at Emory University and University of Alabama Birmingham teaching future cardiologists. His involvement in his field extended to lecturing on stent development with Boehringer-Ingelheim, a leading pharmaceutical research company of the world, and has published many articles on stent development as well. Dr. Hearn received his medical degree in 1982 at the University of Virginia.  He then went on to Emory University to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine. Upon completion, he attended the Lahey Clinic fulfilling a cardiovascular disease fellowship and Emory University, again, with an interventional cardiology fellowship. His educational career reflects his expertise and the American Board of Internal Medicine granted him certification in his aforementioned expertise.
