The International Nurses Association has carefully selected Shannon A. Barthel, BSN, RN-BC, to represent nursing in their publication, Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Shannon Barthel’s selection is a significant representation of her zeal and dedication for the field of nursing.  She is considered to be among the best with only a few years in practice. Shannon maintains a position as registered nurse in the Madigan Healthcare System based out of the Washington area. Madigan is known for providing world-class military medicine to more than 108,000 beneficiaries through a network of health care facilities located throughout Washington, Oregon and California. At Madigan, Shannon has specific expertise in Psychiatric Nursing; requiring her to work with individuals, families, groups, and communities, assessing their mental health needs, developing a nursing diagnosis and plan of care, implementing the nursing process, and evaluating it for effectiveness. Shannon graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Toledo in 2008. Along with her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree, Shannon is a licensed psychiatric nurse; and is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association. With her leadership and communication skills, Shannon is bound for a promising future in nursing.
