The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected William Thomas Pennington, MD, to represent orthopedic surgery in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Pennington’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of orthopedic surgery. He is considered to be among the best in his many years in practice. Dr. Pennington works for the Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin in Franklin, Wisconsin. Specializing in shoulder and knee arthroscopies, Dr. Pennington has also authored a chapter of the book An Atlas of Shoulder Arthroscopy and has been published in the Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics and Arthroscopy. A Clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Pennington was given a clinical instructor of the year award in 2008 for his teaching excellence. Within the community, Dr. Pennington is an Executive Board Member for The Surgery Center at Associated Surgical & Medical Specialists, as well as the Vice Chief of Staff at Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital. In 1994, Dr. Pennington received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin. He continued his orthopedic surgery residency there, and then completed a shoulder and knee reconstruction fellowship program with Eugene M. Wolf, MD, in San Francisco, California. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with sub-specialty in orthopedic sports medicine.
