Guido Bachmann joins The Ranks Of Stanford Who’s Who CALGARY, AB, CANADA, October 10, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who [1]/ — Guido Bachmann is a result-driven, seasoned, multi-dimensional individual with over thirty years’ experience in a number of executive and senior management positions in the energy industry. A highly accomplished energy industry executive, Guido Bachmann [2] has earned acceptance in the distinguished ranks of leading professionals with Stanford Who’s Who. Guido Bachmann’s broad experience base includes conventional oil & gas, clean tech, renewable and thermal energy development as well as energy commodity trading.  He has a broad experience in the energy industry and has held a number of senior and executive positions where he was responsible for areas such as marketing, business development, project execution/management, operations and finance.  He has a track record of successfully identifying and initiating new business opportunities with a proven ability to negotiate with and organize the technical, financial and government resources to bring ventures from inception through implementation to commercial operations. Mr. Bachmann provides advisory and executive management services to the energy industry and currently serves as Executive Director of the Greengate Power Corporation, which is a company that is firmly committed to the development of wind energy projects throughout the Alberta region.  Greengate Power is currently advancing the Blackspring Ridge Wind Power Project, a 300 MW construction ready project which is expected to be Canada’s largest wind energy project when completed. In addition, Greengate Power is also developing several major wind energy projects across the province, totaling more than 1000 MW of clean, renewable electric energy. Prior to his current role with Greengate Power, he served in various other prominent positions, including Chief Executive Officer of Afina Energy Inc., Director of Power Projects for AltaGas Ltd., and President and co-founder of the GW Power Corporation. Additionally, Guido was the Vice President of Thermal Operations with Canadian Hydro Developers Inc., President and Director of Canadian Gas and Electric, and Vice President, Fuel Operations with Northland Power Inc. Mr. Bachmann also served as Chairman of the Independent Power Producers’ Society of Alberta from 1994-2000, where he continued to sit on the Board of Directors until 2006. He has served on various provincial and federal committees in respect to matters of deregulation and the environment, including the Advisory Council for the Electric Utilities Act, Alberta and the federal Electricity Table. Guido earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a practicing member of APEGA (Alberta Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta).
