Saavedra, PsyD, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the psychology community.  With 12 years in the industry, Dr. Saavedra has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Psychologist in her field. Dr. Saavedra serves as Director of Behavioral Health for Borinquen Medical centers of Miami Date, in Miami, Florida.   Employed with Borinquen since 2007, Dr. Saavedra brings many years of clinical experience to Miami Dade community, with her fluency in English and Spanish.  Dr. Saavedra has special clinical interests in individual therapy and counseling of marriage, couples and relationship counseling, crisis intervention, Substance Abuse and HIV Prevention Education.  Together with SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) and CSAT (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment), Dr. Saavedra runs a program called STOPP; an outpatient substance abuse program. In 2000, Dr. Saavedra received her degree from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida. She is also certified in dialectical behavioral therapy; using techniques to view the therapist as an ally rather than an enemy in the patient’s course of treatment.  This technique is commonly used in patients with bipolar disorder, or those with avoidance issues.
