Hassan, MD, FRCP, M.Phil, PhD, is being honored for his exceptional successes in the neurology community.  Over his many years in practice, Dr. Hassan has continued to demonstrate the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Physician in his field. Dr. Hassan works for Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.  With clinical interest in treating disorders of the nervous system, Dr. Hassan specializes in stroke treatment. He is the author of 3 articles in medical journals including the Archives of Neurology and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Serving organizations like the Movement Disorder Society, American Academy of Neurology, and Restless Leg Syndrome Foundation, Dr. Hassan strives to help others understand neurological disorders. In 1973, Dr. Hassan received his medical degree from the University of Leeds in England.  He then completed dual internships at Chapel-Allentown Hospital, one in internal medicine, the other in surgery/neurosurgery.  Dr. Hassan’s education then took him to Canada and England for residency.  He completed a neurology residency at the Leeds General Infirmary and a neurology and internal medicine residency at the University of Ottawa.  His United States education began with a fellowship at the New York Neurological Institute in movement disorders; Dr. Hassan also completed a fellowship at the University Hospital of Ottawa.  Dr. Hassan has the unique distinction of being educated in three countries.  He continues to practice at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and practices at various hospitals in the Hartford/Farmington area.
