Press Release: Alisa Kim, MD, Represents Maryland with Inclusion into Renowned Publication The Leading Physicians of the World

The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected Alisa Kim, MD, to represent ophthalmology in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Kim’s selection is a significant representation of her passion and dedication for the field of ophthalmology.  She is considered to be among the best among her many years in practice. Dr. Kim is the Medical Director of the Maryland Eye Center, a new ophthalmology practice with locations in Chevy Chase and Rockville, Maryland.  Dr. Kim has special clinical expertise in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery. Prior to opening Maryland Eye Center, Dr. Kim served on the full-time faculty of the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.  During her time at Wilmer Eye Institute, Dr. Kim was one of the primary cornea surgeons, using the best lasers and proctoring corneal surgery centers.  She remains one of the world’s most authoritative corneal and refractive surgeons, and has frequently been published on the subject. In 2000, Dr. Kim received her degree from the University of California Los Angeles Keck School of Medicine. Her ophthalmology residency completed at the Jules Stein Eye Institute of the University of California at Los Angeles, annually ranked as one of the top training programs in the country.  Dr. Kim then went to the East Coast to Johns Hopkins University of Medicine and the Wilmer Eye Institute for her fellowship in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery. Since the completion of her education, Dr. Kim has participated in multiple clinical research trials and is on the faculty of Wilmer Eye Institute, a position she has held since 2005.
