Representing the geriatricians of Virginia, Lakshmi T. Kishore, MD, has been selected to represent her community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.  In practice for over 20 years, Dr. Kishore represents the commitment, distinction, and passion for patient care needed to receive this revered honor. Dr. Kishore’s career began in 1977, after she received her medical degree from Osmania University located in India.  She then relocated to the United States, where she continued her internship at Coney Island Hospital. Dr. Kishore then attended the University of Arkansas for her residency and geriatrics fellowship.  Upon completion, Dr. Kishore was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in geriatrics and internal medicine. Now located in Christiansburg, Virginia, Dr. Kishore maintains a position at Carilion Clinic Geriatrics and Internal Medicine. Healthcare consumers ranked Carilion Hospitals as the “most- preferred” in the Roanoke Valley, earning it the National Research Corporation’s 2010 Consumer Choice Award. Dr. Kishore specializes in geriatric medicine; making her responsible for the care of people 65 and older, tending to the special needs of her patients.  When Dr. Kishore is not serving her patients at the Clinic, she is an attending physician at other Carilion Clinic locations.
