Rutt, BSN, MSN, FNP-C, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community. With 17 years in the industry, Phillis has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field. Phillis works as a family nurse practitioner in Northeast Colorado. She is board certified, and is capable of working independently from a physician, treating families. A cancer survivor, Phillis has generational experience caring for others, helping her own mother battle the disease. She is inspired to care for others, and in 2007, was awarded a Quality Nursing Care award from the Medical Center of Aurora by her peers. She continues to lecture in the community as a volunteer, speaking about cardiac care, the number one killer of men and women. In 1995, Phillis received her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado. She then received her MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) and FNP-C (Family nurse practitioner board certification) in 2009 from the University of Northern Colorado. Phillis also enjoys conducting research on perinatal loss and has written about it from a nursing perspective in the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing in 2008.
