Drawing upon her wealth of knowledge in the healthcare field as well as her outstanding managerial skills, Priscilla serves as Chief Executive Officer of St. Luke’s Hospice, which is a charitable organization that specializes in the provision of nursing, social, and spiritual support for patients and their families throughout the Cape Town region. Caring for over 800 patients across the area, St. Luke’s has been providing palliative care for people with incurable illnesses for over 30 years. In her role as Chief Executive Officer, Priscilla is responsible for managing the operations of nine different departments and approximately 200 staff members as well as overseeing the care of about 880 patients on any given day. She is also actively involved in training staff and volunteers as well as spearheading fundraising activities in order to help cover the costs of caring for patients who cannot afford the costs on their own. Prior to taking over the reins with St. Luke’s, Priscilla spent over 8 years as a Patient Care Services Manager with the Cancer Association of South Africa in the Western Cape Provincial area. Although she has obtained a considerable amount of her expertise through her professional experience, Priscilla also earned a Master of Social Work degree in Medical Social Work from the University of Stellenbosch. Evidencing her remarkable reputation in the healthcare industry, Priscilla serves as Vice Chair of the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa for the Western Cape region.
