Since beginning her professional career, Ms. Saunders-Vasconcelos has been deeply involved in the research and development process of winemaking, especially Pinot Noir. In 1990, Carmo earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Viticulture from the prestigious Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zürich, Switzerland. She undertook post-doctoral studies in Viticulture and Enology at the renowned Michigan State University in the United States.
