Over the course of her extraordinary professional career, Ms. Saunders-Vasconcelos has regularly exhibited the ethics, enthusiasm, precision and vigor necessary to be named among the elite. Carmo is the science manager for Elanza Technologies located in the Katikati, Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand. Since beginning her professional career, Ms. Saunders-Vasconcelos has been deeply involved in the research and development process of winemaking, especially Pinot Noir. In 1990, Carmo earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Viticulture from the prestigious Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zürich, Switzerland. She undertook post-doctoral studies in Viticulture and Enology at the renowned Michigan State University in the United States. Carmo then spent nearly 13 years as a tenured associate professor at the University of Oregon. She is fluent not only in English, but also in French, German, Portuguese, and Italian.
