Press Release: Joanne L. Becker, MD, Represents New York with Inclusion into Renowned Publication The Leading Physicians of the World

The Leading Physicians of the World and the International Association of Healthcare Professionals are proud to announce that Joanne L. Becker, MD, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the pathology community.  Over her many years in practice, Dr. Becker has continued to demonstrate the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Physician in her field. Dr. Becker works at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, as Medical Director, Blood Bank and Therapeutic Apheresis Unit, in Buffalo, New York. She also serves as Clinical Chief of the Laboratory Medicine Department, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine.  Dr. Becker is board certified and specializes in pathology and transfusion medicine.  Her efforts have been recognized by the American Association of Blood Banks, where she served for many years on their committees, as well as a term acting as President of the Blood Bank Association of New York State. In 1989, Dr. Becker received her medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical Universities College of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency training at University Hospital of SUNY Stony Brook, and fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Becker was the two-time recipient of the Pathology Resident Research Award and the Dr. Gordon Vawter Research Award for excellence in conducted research. In the past, she served as Director of Blood Services for Kaleida Health in Buffalo.
