Representing the cardiologists of Wyoming, M. Obadah Al Chekakie, MD, has been selected to represent his community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.  In practice for many years, Dr. Chekakie represents the commitment, excellence, and passion for patient care needed to receive this prestigious honor. Dr. Chekakie works for Cheyenne Cardiology Associates in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  He specializes in nuclear cardiology and electrophysiology; or the treatment of the electrical activities of the heart. Combined with interventional and nuclear cardiology imaging, this is a less invasive way of treating heart disease. A noted expert on electrophysiology of the heart, in 2009 he co-authored “Gemella Morbillorum Prosthetic Valve Endocarditis,” for the Congestive Heart Failure Journal. Joining the practice in 2009, Dr. Chekakie joins the staff at the only practice in the state to offer comprehensive services in an area which was not previously offered this type of care. In 1999, Dr. Chekakie received his degree from University of Aleppo in Syria. He came to the United States for his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  Dr. Chekakie was then elected Chief EP Fellow during his Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Advanced Cardiac Electrophysiology at Loyola University in Chicago. His research for the Heart Rhythm Society was nominated for a Finalist award in 2007 and he is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiology, Echocardiology, and nuclear cardiology.
