Employing his extensive expertise in the field, Mr. Purdy currently serves as a Packaging Manager for Australia and New Zealand with McCain Foods, which is a global leader in the frozen food industry and the largest manufacturer of frozen potato specialties in the world. In his role with the company, he manages the Australian and New Zealand Packaging Team and is responsible for all packaging within that region, including support for the emerging markets of China and India. Mr. Purdy also handles packaging development and design, packaging equipment selection and installation, sustainable packaging, recycling and the environment, supply chain and cost reduction. Prior to joining the team with McCain Foods, Mark served as a Packaging Technologist for Lion Dairy and Drinks. Whilst at Lion, Mark received a “Reach” Award for Outstanding Commitment to the company. Before that, he worked as a Packaging Technologist and as a Line Manager with Nestle. During his time at Nestle, he was awarded the prestigious 2007 Nestle Oceania Gold Packaging Award for his innovative packaging design. Evidencing his diverse professional background, Mr. Purdy also served as Overall Operational Efficiency Engineer responsible for the Finishing Plant at James Hardie Building Products. Mark began his career as an Electrical Engineering graduate with Australian Paper and quickly moved to become the Area Engineer responsible for the Finishing, Converting and Packaging section of the plant. Mark also worked for a year as an English Language Teacher for the Nova English School in Tokyo, Japan. Despite gaining a substantial amount of his expertise through his professional experience, Mark is a highly educated individual who earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Tasmania. In addition, he recently earned an internationally recognized Certificate of Packaging with his studies through a UK University.
