The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected Erwin N. Oechslin, MD, FRCP(C), FESC, to represent cardiology in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Oechslin’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of cardiology.  He is considered to be among the best among his many years in practice. Dr.  Oechslin practices at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, part of the University Health Network, Toronto General Hospital in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Oechslin is an expert in treating adult congenital heart diseases, as well as pulmonary hypertension in congenital heart disease, cyanotic congenital heart disease, and non-compaction of the left ventricular myocardium.  Dr. Oechslin’s career began in Switzerland, where he created the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at the University Hospital in Zurich.  An accomplished author and researcher as well as a physician, Dr. Oechslin has published eight book chapters, co-edited one book, and published over 90 articles in peer-reviewed journals. In 1985, Dr. Oechslin earned his medical degree at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.  He continued in Switzerland for his internship, and came to Canada for a fellowship at the University of Toronto as a Research Fellow in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. He also completed a one year fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in pediatric cardiology.  Dr. Oechslin is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
