Dr. Bakir is an active physician in the field of nephrology, and has contributed copious publications on dialysis, lupus, and renal problems in urban cities; he is also a valued member to many medical associations including the American Society of Nephrology. He has the unique distinction of being educated in three countries: England, Baghdad, and the United States. Dr. Bakir graduated from the University of Baghdad Medical School in 1968 with his medical degree. He also attended John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County for his internship and residency programs. Then Dr. Bakir’s fellowship training was completed at the Rush University Medical Center; as well as accomplishing other training at other medical facilities. Dr. Bakir also obtained his board certification in nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
