Representing the neurologists of Massachusetts, Majaz Moonis, MD, MRCP(l), FRCP, DM, FAAN, FAHA, has been selected to represent his community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World. In practice for many years, Dr. Moonis represents the commitment, excellence, and passion for patient care needed to receive this prestigious honor. Dr. Moonis serves the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worchester, Massachusetts; as well as Day Kimball Hospital in Connecticut. At UMass, Dr. Moonis also acts as the Director of Stroke Services as well as the Vascular Fellowship Program. He serves the University of Massachusetts Medical School as a Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry. Dr. Moonis is board certified in Neurophysiology, Sleep Medicine, Vascular Neurology, Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A speaker at national stroke conferences, his articles have been published in medical journals. In 1981, Dr. Moonis earned his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India. He then completed a residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center – UMass Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Moonis maintains membership in the American Academy of Neurology, American Heart Association, American Heart and Stroke Association, and the Indian Stroke Association.
