Dr. Amigo is a valued physician at Magruder Hospital located in Port Clinton, Ohio.  Magruder Hospital earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, being recognized nationwide their commitment to meeting specific performance standards. Dr. Amigo has distinguished himself through excellence in weight-loss surgical techniques and being a strong advocate for continuing medical education; this has allowed him to stay abreast of the latest technologies and procedures in his field. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Amigo provides a full range of cutting-edge laparoscopic surgical techniques; with specific clinical interest in bioenterics laparoscopic gastric bypass, single-incision laparoscopic surgery, and laparoscopic bariatric surgery.  Dr. Amigo also dedicates his time to being a Clinical Associate Professor with Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and West Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. When Dr. Amigo is not serving his patients or educating future physicians, he volunteers his services with local youth sports, the American Red Cross, and the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association. In 1976, Dr. Amigo completed his undergraduate training and pre-med studies at Ohio Wesleyan University. Dr. Amigo continued on to receive his degree, in 1979, at the Michigan state University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Upon completion, he furthered his training in osteopathic medicine; attending Grandview Hospital and Doctors Hospital in Ohio.
