The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected K. Wayne Marshall, MD, PhD, FRCS(C), to represent orthopedic surgery in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Marshall’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of orthopedic surgery. He is considered to be among the best among his many years in practice. Dr. Marshall works for Toronto Western Hospital- University Health Network in Ontario, Canada. He specializes in treating osteoarthritis, particularly in the knees, all the way from initial stages to end-stage, where joint replacement is required. He serves the division of the Orthopedic Surgery Arthritis Program for the University Health Network. With a special interest in sports medicine treatment as well, Dr. Marshall has been published in over 100 articles and abstracts in scientific journals. In 1977, Dr. Marshall received his degree from Wayne State University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and an active member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopedic Research Society. Dr. Marshall is also co-founder of GeneNews, a research organization devoted to molecular diagnostics to enhance early detection of various diseases, including osteoarthritis and blood diseases.
