Press Release: Leland Dhurjon, MD, FRCS(C), Represents Ontario with Inclusion into Renowned Publication The Leading Physicians of the World

The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected Dr. Leland Dhurjon, MD, FRCS(C), to represent ophthalmology in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Dhurjon’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of ophthalmology.  He is considered to be among the best among his many years in practice. Dr. Dhurjon works for the Port Arthur Health Centre and Clinic in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.  The Clinic has been open since the Great Depression and has sought to meet the needs of Northwestern Ontario/Thunder Bay, who have a lack of family physicians.   Dr. Dhurjon specializes in the needs of the retina and retinal diseases.  Dr. Dhurjon and his team were the recipients of a generous endowment, thanks to The Lloyd & Verna Gilbart Ophthalmology Endowment Fund, whose support helps fund the Lions Vision Care Center and its equipment. In 1982, Dr. Dhurjon received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Barbados.  He then completed an internship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, McGill University in Canada. Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Dhurjon is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada).  He is also on staff at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre, also in Ontario.
