The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected Michael L. Wood, MD, to represent cardiology in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Wood’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of cardiology.  He is considered to be among the best among his many years in practice. Dr. Wood works at Patients First Healthcare, a multi-location healthcare center located in Missouri.  Dr. Wood serves the Washington, Sullivan, Creve Coeur, and Sunset Hills offices; and is also on staff at SSM St. Clare Health Center. He specializes in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases through the use of interventional cardiology, typically used to treat structural diseases of the heart. The Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab SSM St. Clare Health Center, Dr. Wood also treats peripheral artery diseases and performs coronary interventions as well. In 2000, Dr. Wood received his medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.  He then went on to complete an internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, culminating in a cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowship at this same university. Dr. Wood is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
