Representing the anesthesiologists of Ontario, Rayka Tzerovska, MD, FRCP(C), has been selected to represent her community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World.  In practice for over 20 years, Dr. Tzerovska represents the commitment, dedication, and passion for patient care needed to receive this esteemed honor. Dr. Tzerovska started her career in 1982, after she received her medical degree and completed her internship from the Medical University of Sofia in Bulgaria.  Dedicated to her field of medicine, she relocated to Canada, where she currently resides and practices, to attend Queens University for her anesthesia residency. Upon completion, Dr. Tzerovska trained at the Ottawa Heart Institute; Canada’s largest and foremost cardiovascular health centre, for her Anesthesia fellowship. Located in Oshawa, Ontario, Dr. Tzerovska works at Lakeridge Health in Canada. Lakeridge is one of Ontario’s largest community hospitals, serving the Durham Region. Dr. Tzerovska’s clinical expertise at Lakeridge is in cardiac anesthesiology; making her responsible for administering anesthesia to cardiothoracic surgery patients that requires preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. Throughout her career, Dr. Tzerovska has contributed many publications to the field of anesthesiology including the article “Ischemic Heart Disease: Differences between Men and Women”, in 2004. For all of her achievements and passion, Dr. Tzerovska has the distinction of being named Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
