As a result of impeccable passion and quality patient care, Ronald Garth Smith, MBBS, FRCP(C), has been selected to receive publication in The Leading Physicians of the World.  The International Association of Healthcare Professionals is proud to welcome Dr. Smith into a prestigious, supportive community for top physicians. Dr. Smith is the Medical Director of Developmental Pediatrics within the Child Development Centre, located in Kingston, Ontario in Canada. The Centre cultivates the potential in children and young adults who have physical and/or developmental challenges. Dr. Smith, with over 20 years of experience, specializes in developmental pediatrics and a spectrum of autism disorders; offering his expertise to his young patients. Board certified, Dr. Smith also is on faculty of Hotel Dieu Hospital and is a Professor of Pediatrics at Queens Hospital. His success at Queens Hospital was recognized in 1999, 2005, and 2008, by receiving the Teaching Honors Award for those three years. Dr. Smith has distinction by being named Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians; as well as, being an active member to many medical associations and contributing various publications to the field of pediatrics. In 1987, Dr. Smith wrote a handbook for pediatric residents training at the Hospital for Sick Children. He graduated in 1981 obtaining his MBBS, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, degree from the University of West Indies Medical School. Dr. Smith then went on to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto for his internship and residency in 1981-1982. Upon completion, Dr. Smith attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his fellowship training.
