Darin W. Fortenberry  has consistently demonstrated the passion, vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be successful in the business world. As a result of his brilliant body of work, Mr. Fortenberry has earned recognition in the prestigious network of premier professionals with Stanford Who’s Who. Exercising his outstanding business acumen, Mr. Fortenberry is a Co-Owner of Styler’s Family Hair Salon, which is one of the largest family owned, full-service hair and tanning salons in the area that provides a comprehensive range of services to clients in the Shreveport/Bossier City region. In his role with the business, Mr. Fortenberry is actively involved in the provision of business support and improvement, advertising services, and ongoing customer service oriented activities. The majority of Mr. Fortenberry’s incredibly impressive career has been spent in the water treatment field, serving in a variety of prominent roles for the City of Shreveport. His most recent appointment prior to retirement was as Superintendent of the Water Purification Division of the Shreveport Municipal Water Treatment Facilities. He has also served in the roles of Plant Manager, Chief Operations Manager, and Operations Manager for the City of Shreveport. Mr. Fortenberry retired from the City of Shreveport with 25 years of dedicated work as a Public Servant. In addition to his experience with business services, Mr. Fortenberry’s expertise is a contributing factor to the success that the salon has achieved and a factor that guarantees upholding their reputation and the continuation of their success from here on. Although he has gathered a considerable amount of his expertise though his vast professional experience, Mr. Fortenberry is also a highly educated individual who earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University with honors, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Centenary College of Louisiana. In addition, he completed the Water Technology Program at California State University and studied Microbiology at Northwestern State University. Moreover, while working for the City of Shreveport, Mr. Fortenberry earned the highest levels of both Water and Wastewater Certification that are possible to obtain, from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Public Health – Engineering Services Division. Attaining these certifications is very difficult, as you have to not only have a certain amount of higher education and vast experience in these industries to acquire them, but you must also pass a series of difficult exams administered by the State of Louisiana, or their designee, in addition to taking continuing education courses throughout the years to maintain them. Evidencing his remarkable reputation in the professional water treatment community, Mr. Fortenberry is a member of numerous organizations, including the Water Environment Federation, American Water Works Association, Drinking Water Infrastructure Professionals, Energy & Utilities Network, Water Industry Executives, and the Water Treatment Industry Group. Since Mr. Fortenberry retired from the Water Industry while only 45 years of age, and considering his above average accomplishments, there is surely much more to come on the horizon for Mr. Fortenberry, as he continues to pursue his many goals.
