Dr. Michael Evans Graduates To The Class Of Stanford Who’s Who CANBERRA, ACT, AUSTRALIA, December 17, 2012 /Stanford Who’s Who [1]/ — An extraordinary educator and executive in the defense industry with extensive professional experience in the field, Dr. Michael Evans [2] has enjoyed a tremendously successful career filled with several significant accomplishments, leading to his recognition in the prestigious network of premier professionals with Stanford Who’s Who. Throughout his brilliant professional career, Dr. Evans has routinely exhibited the passion, vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be mentioned among the elite. Drawing upon his wealth of knowledge in the field as well as his remarkable teaching abilities, Dr. Evans currently serves as a Fellow of the Australian Defense College, which is an educational facility that was formed in order to meet the strategic needs of the Australian Defence Force for joint professional military education and individual joint warfare training. In his role at the college, Michael is responsible for teaching strategy in operational areas as well as conducting research on the future of the army and the Australian maritime future. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Evans spent over four years as Head of the Australian Army’s Land Warfare Studies Centre at the Royal Military College. He also has experience as a staff member of Land Headquarters in Sydney and in the Directorate of Army Research and Analysis in Army Headquarters in Canberra. Additionally, Michael has served as a Sir Alfred Beit Fellow in the Department of War Studies at King’s College, University of London. Over the course of his incredibly impressive career, Dr. Evans has held several other prominent positions, including Visiting Fellowships at the University of York in England and the University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy. He is also an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the New Zealand Defence Force Command and Staff College. In addition to the considerable amount of expertise he has obtained through his professional experience in the field, Michael is a highly educated individual who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Rhodesia, Master of Arts degree in War Studies from the University of London, and a PhD in Politics from the University of Western Australia. Evidencing his magnificent reputation in the military community, Dr. Evans is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies. He also serves on the international editorial boards for The Journal of Strategy Studies and Small Wars and Insurgencies. Further demonstrating his proficiency in the field, Dr. Evans is the only Australian recipient of the U.S. Naval War College Foundation Hugh G. Nott award for strategic analysis. He is also the principal author of the Australian Army’s 2009 doctrine Manual, LWD 3-0-1, Counterinsurgency.
