Representing the pathologists of Ohio, Cara Gatto-Weis, MD, has been selected to represent her community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World. In practice for over 15 years, Dr. Gatto-Weis represents the commitment, dedication, and passion for patient care needed to receive this esteemed honor. Dr. Gatto-Weis started her career in 1994, after she received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. A doctor of distinction, Dr. Gatto-Weis continued her education at Drexel University for her internship. She then attended MCP Hahnemann University Hospital; where she completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency and surgical pathology and cytopathology fellowship. Upon completion, Dr. Gatto-Weis obtained anatomic, clinical pathology, and cytopathology certification from the American Board of Pathology . Located in Maumee, Ohio, Dr. Gatto-Weis works at the University of Toledo Medical Center. At the University, Dr. Gatto-Weis is also an Assistant Professor of Pathology with specific clinical interest in the performance of fine needle aspiration biopsies with on-site interpretation. She is active in the field of pathology; having contributed publications on gastroenterology and being the Director of Pathology Care at the Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Research. Dr. Gatto-Weis is current in her practices and procedures by being a member of numerous medical associations such as the College of American Pathologists.
