Press Release: YPO’s Women’s International Network Partners With Lean In

Lean In’s aspiration is to create a community dedicated to encouraging women to “lean in to their ambitions” and empower each other. With the help of WIN, the organization will offer practical, ongoing support through an active online community; education content focused on the skills women need to succeed; and small, local peer groups dubbed “Lean In Circles.”

“YPO and its Women’s International Network are leaning in because we understand how important it is to support and foster female leaders around the world,” said YPO International Chairman Chuck Davis. “YPO is proud to be one of Lean In’s founding partners.”

WIN members will be trained as master moderators and start Lean In Circles at their own businesses or in their communities where women can discuss challenges unique to businesswomen in a confidential setting. The individual groups will connect online to similar circles around the world.

“Lean In combines the best of social networking, online learning and small peer groups to create a community that can move us towards a more equal world,” said Lean In Co-founder Sandberg. “As we start using the talents of the entire population, our institutions will be more productive, our homes will be happier, and our children will no longer be held back by narrow stereotypes.”

Sparked by Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, LeanIn.Org consists of three integrated programs. 1) Lean In Community brings women and men together to share stories and have daily conversations around topics that will help them achieve their goals. 2) Lean In Education offers access to free online lectures, produced in collaboration with the Clayman Institute for Gender Studies at Stanford University, on topics including creating successful teams, combating gender bias, negotiating, and advocating for your ideas. 3) Lean In Circles are small groups that meet monthly to learn together and share experiences in an atmosphere of confidentiality and trust.
