Tesla To Upgrade Home Chargers Due To Heat Issue
Tesla Motors said Friday it is about to provide its owners with updated home charger wall adapters with thermal fuses after reports that some wall sockets melted or smoked during charging. The new adapters are being ordered as Tesla deals with concerns about fires and its electric cars. Tesla issued a statement that says in part: “In December, 2013, Tesla provided an over-the-air software update that addressed potential overheating at the socket and would even protect a customer if there was bad wiring on the house side.”
