A health ministry spokesman in Egypt says 29 people have been killed in clashes between security forces and anti-government protesters nationwide on the anniversary of the country’s 2011 uprising. Ahmed Kamel said Saturday most of the dead were killed in Cairo. Fierce clashes have raged between largely Islamist protesters and security forces in eastern Cairo. Saturday marked the anniversary of the start of the 2011 uprising that forced longtime autocrat Hosni Mubarak to step down.
