Korean Air Lines eked out a small operating profit for the fourth quarter, as the company continued to experience weak demand for its Japan routes and strong regional competition. The challenges facing the South Korean flag carrier, which on Tuesday kicked off the latest reporting season for Asian legacy airlines, are being felt across the region by its full-service rivals who are doing battle with growing budget airlines.
