CVS announced their decision to remove tobacco products from pharmacies by October 1st, 2014. CVS Caremark CEO Larry Merlo made the call to back the companies ideal that tobacco products are inconsistent with the purpose of CVS. While it’s an admirable notion, it’s a call that’s going to dramatically hit the company’s bottom line.
