Millions Face ‘Slippery’ Commute As Snow Blows Into Northeast
More than 20 million people face a “horribly slippery” commute Wednesday as the winter storm that caused chaos across in the nation’s midsection roars into the Northeast. Heavy snow and a blast of freezing rain will turn roads into ice rinks, ground flights and trigger yet another snow day for millions of schoolchildren. The Weather Channel ’s Kevin Roth said, “There will be icing all around New York,” and added that the four inches of snow that hit the city since midnight will be followed by icy rain.
