Obama: Russia Has ‘Enormous Stake’ In Preventing Attack
President Obama told NBC’s Bob Costas that Russia has an “enormous stake” in preventing a terrorist attack during the Winter Olympics in Sochi. U.S. officials have urged Americans traveling to Russia for the games to exercise caution following terrorist threats and three suicide bombings in the country in as many months. Secretary of State John Kerry told NBC News’ Ann Curry that Americans traveling for the games need to be “vigilant” but, “If an American wants to go, including my daughter, I’d say go.” On Thursday, the TSA issued a temporary ban on most aerosols, gels, powders and liquid in carry-ons for flights from the U.S. to Russia until the games are over.
