Team USA has won the first gold medal of the Olympics. Sage Kotsenburg took home the honor after he wowed judges in the slopestyle competition, particularly when he performed a “1620 Japan” at the end–four-and-a-half revolutions while grabbing the board in front and arching his back, a trick he told the paper he “had never, ever tried” before in his life.
