Taking on the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government for “its failure to check corruption”, Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate, asserted on Sunday that “a person like me, who does not have any family bond, can only fight corruption.” Modi said at a public rally in Hamirpur district, 175 km from Shimla, “Black money stashed abroad belongs to the people of India. These Congressmen have looted the poor and put money there.” He added, “If the Congressmen are not corrupt, then what is the problem in getting back the black money?”
