LIGHTNING RELEASES 06/03/14 –Marketing expert Tyson Downs knows how to get top ranking results. He shares what he’s learned in his years of marketing in a new book “The Right Way: The Step-By-Step Guide to Successfully Marketing Your Business Online: Your Ticket to Increasing Your Online Presence, Generating More Revenue, Creating Loyal Fans, and Dominating Your Local Market…Without all the Complicated “Techie Stuff.”

The 79-page book is downloadable from Amazon at .

“My clients have been saying for several years that I need to write a book on marketing tips,” he said from his Utah offices. “For a long time I worried that writing a book mean giving away all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained. But as my clients continued to ask me for a book, I decided this is a step I needed to take.”

The book starts with a primer on Internet marketing. Mr. Downs said a lot of people know this, but far more do not know how to start an online presence. That’s where a marketing expert comes in.

“You’re not going to get bogged down in jargon, complicated ideas and incomprehensible statistics. This is review of why the Internet is important, what it can do for your business and where to get started,” he said.

Chapter 2 is a look at the Internet in more detail with some hard facts about online commerce. Each year the number of online shoppers goes up and the amount spent online rises. In short, a business that is not online is missing this revenue and customer stream.

Downs briefly discusses what strategies are necessary for an online business success and why SEO – Search Engine Optimization – is so important. It’s all about marketing.

“People hear SEO and they think it’s a company officer, something to do with the Internet. They are more right than they know. SEO is not a person, but it certainly is the driving force behind a money-making website. Good SEO typically means profit and customer growth. Bad SEO can truly ruin a business; I’ve seen it multiple times,” he said.

Chapter 3 is where the electronic rubber really hits the information superhighway. Downs takes the reader through the launch of a website starting with selecting a URL – Universal Resource Locator. The URL is the website name. is Downs’ website, for instance.  Once that’s selected, Downs has three recommendations for site hosts.

“Now you have to figure out what to put in and on your website. This is a critical part of the work. Your keywords (content) matter,” he said. “Keywords and SEO are linked together and they must both be the best possible. Bad keywords mean poor online visibility, something you don’t want! Proper keyword selection in the text of your website can set you up for success.”

Once everything is up and running, content and engagement is essential. Think of the Internet like a big classroom. Those that are most successful are those that interact, that have good ideas, and that share those ideas. Mr. Downs said articles on the website, a blog and press releases (when you truly have noteworthy news) are real traffic drivers. Search engines look for this kind of copy. He supplies tips on how to generate the copy and what it can do.

“Words matter,” he said. “If you don’t know how to write or are not sure what to write, the Internet has plenty of expert writers you can hire.”

“I wrote this book because I’ve been there before, and boy, do I wish I had somebody lead me by the hand and show me the ropes. With this book, I hope to accomplish exactly that; to take a beginner with no internet presence to dominating in their local market and getting new customers finding them each and every day. That to me would make this book a success.”
