Apple’s New Programming Language Has Been In Development For Nearly Four Years
At its WWDC event on Monday, Apple made waves among the iOS and Mac developer communities with the announcement of Swift, a new programming language designed from the ground up by the company’s developer tools team. According to Chris Lattner, director of Apple’s Developer Tools Department, the Swift programming language has only been in development since July 2010. On his personal website , he writes that the language beganas a solo project, with “only a few people knowing of its existence.”
