Grenade-hurling gunman attacked Karachi’s international airport late Sunday, killing at least four security guards in a firefight. BBC and the New York Times reported that a gunbattle was still underway at the airport, and Pakistan media reported up to 10 gunman had attacked the terminal. Flights were being diverted away from the airport, which authorities sealed off. Airport staff was evacuated. Senior police official Rao Muhammad Anwar told Agence France-Presse: “Exchange of fire is continuing. We don’t know the exact number of the attackers.”
