Apple has settled with consumers and states in a lawsuit over the price fixing of e-books, but the details of the settlement are as yet undisclosed. Apple asked publishers to raise prices and force Amazon to do the same, in order to beat Jeff Bezo’s $9.99 stranglehold on the e-book giant. In short, Apple was sued for conspiring with publishers to get out of a nasty relationship with Amazon, and lost.
