The United States men’s soccer team avenged its previous losses to Ghana in the past two World Cups on Monday in Brazil, beating the African team 2-1 in their opening match. Celebrities around the country were quick to react to the huge win. Ellen DeGeneres tweeted “Go USA! Fastest goal in U.S. World Cup history in the #USAvsGHANA game. 32 seconds! It took me longer to look up where Ghana is.” while Barack Obama wrote “11 on the field, more than 300 million cheering them on. #WorldCup #USMNT.”
