Stocks are slightly higher in early trading as the market heads for a week of solid gains. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose two points, or 0.1 percent, to 1,961 in the first few minutes of trading Friday. The Dow Jones industrial average gained 16 points, or 0.1 percent, to 16,938. Oracle slumped after the company’s quarterly results fell short of Wall Street’s forecasts. On Thursday, the S&P 500 index notched an all-time high for the second day in a row. The index is on track to gain 1.2 percent for the week.
